Gay Marriage Should Be Legal Essay -- Gay Marriage, argumentative, per
The Supreme Court of the United States decided that the Constitution ensures a privilege to same-sex marriage. However, same-sex marriage keeps on being a profoundly discussed issue that leaves our general public looking for answers. This has been evident during races when legislators, so as to divert or influence moderate voters, all agreed with a particular stance and had an assessment on the issue of same-sex marriage. The discussion has been introduced on the left as a social liberties banter, equivalent rights. Furthermore, on the right, as an ethics banter, a submission on homosexuality (Rauch, J. 2004). Everybody has a feeling on whether two men or two ladies ought to be permitted to get hitched, and in doing as such, have no different rights conceded by the national government to them as are allowed to more ââ¬Å"traditionalâ⬠couples. It is my conviction that gay, lesbian, and transgendered couples ought to be managed indistinguishable benefits from some other resident s including the decision of marriage. Singling out and refusing certain rights to any individual dependent on sexual direction, much the same as race, ethnicity, or strict foundation, is segregation. Additionally, strict perspectives on homosexuality ought not affect our laws. By traditionalist assessments, there are likely around ten million gay men and lesbians in the United States. Furthermore, they will be there. They will have connections and they will have children regardless of what we do in our laws and regardless of what courts state. What's more, the inquiry regarding whether gay and lesbian couples ought to have an equivalent option to get hitched under our state laws- - we're discussing state laws here, we're not discussing private strict associations. Enterprise Systems for Sales and Production - myassignmenthelp
Questions: 1. What are the key objectives IGT needed to accomplish utilizing an ERP system?2.Discuss the advantages and disadvantages to tweaking the system.3. By what method ought to IGT handle change the executives during ERP usage? Answers: 1. Change a current data innovation framework with one that is increasingly bound together and proficient For overseeing various offices like deals, creation, requests and fund, IGT had separate frameworks. Getting entrance in to data about a specific request was a bulky process. Each framework were considered as isolated elements and a data must be gotten from every one of this substances independently. This implied the various activities must be overseen by various applications. On the off chance that one of the offices needed to speak with another division it required a great deal of manual activities and was profoundly badly arranged. There was no assurance that the data recovered was real and would be real. This incited IGT to supplant the current framework with a progressively incorporated and effective framework that would arrange the various offices in an increasingly vigorous and brought together way. The fundamental aim of this ERP was the connecting of the center business tasks like showcasing, records, creation and conveyance into a progressively durable unit. Rebuilding the activities that improve the viability of the business By presenting an ERP framework, IGT expected to improve the business procedure itself. A business to such an extent that of IGTs requires a bit by bit degree that begins from assembling till the deals and conveyance. Since expound process and particular advances were engaged with the business, there are odds of the representatives submitting certain blunders that were conscious or something else. In any case, if an improved framework like that of an ERP was presented, the odds for mistakes could be disposed of. The most significant favorable position of presenting the ERP framework would be precision among the workers (Law and Ngai, 2007). Understanding that there would be a precise method of regulating things and mistakes can't be skirted causes the representatives to play out their exercises in an increasingly orderly way. By empowering the ERP framework, IGT could actualize an increasingly normalized technique to process the requests that were to me made critically. Decreasing the mistakes and better creation rates could improve the tasks and the business totally. Organizing the overall activities and upgrading the business administration Being a global enterprise IGT had tasks crossing to most pieces of the world. Likewise with the inner business structure, before the usage of the SAP framework, the overall activities were protected with one another. The tasks did in various areas like Manchester, Las Vegas and Reno had no data exchange between them. The proposed usage of the SAP framework expected to improve the joining between these activities. The principle expectation was to achieve an increasingly normalized approach for reconciliation of the business. This would be particularly useful for the higher specialists to create valuable data to make unequivocal administration strategies. 2.Pros: The significant bit of leeway of utilizing an ERP System was that it brought together all the various frameworks for the whole business activities. Modifying the framework made it important to incorporate every single diverse division like requests, creation, deals, dissemination and bookkeeping. A typical data the executives framework could along these lines be actualized that was particular and isolated from one another. Altering the framework likewise guaranteed a progressively steady and nonstop progression of data between the modules (Shang and Seddon, 2000). The significant effect of this in IGT was on Accounts. At first it was chosen by IGT the board that the records module would be kept up independently and would be overseen by a different data the board framework. Yet, later it was perceived by the IGT the executives that the bookkeeping office could likewise be coordinated alongside different modules. The SAP ERP bundle that was picked by the administration had a superior m oney related administration framework. Since IGT had worldwide tasks, it was obligatory that the money related administration framework required a particular module to deal with the remote cash exchanges. The underlying accomplishment of IGT in receiving an ERP framework was that it could consolidate three significant modules; fabricate, item advancement and fund. Joining these three modules empowered the front office applications to be firmly coordinated with the plant based activities. Another bit of leeway was that it helped the laborers in the creation procedure by and large. The assembling procedures could be observed all the more intently by the representatives at the workstations itself. The procedure sheets were given online to the representatives. These means ensured that no progression during the creation procedure was covered or overlooked. The efficient method of getting things done in an ERP framework required the laborers to follow the procedure in the correct way. Cons: The undeniable burden of modifying the framework is that the expense related with customization is excessively expensive. Joined with the customization there are various stages, for example, arranging, designing, testing and usage. Another disadvantage of modifying the framework is that the sending time for a genuinely intricate framework, for example, the one in IGT may devour a ton of time to be completely operational. The expense of customization is consistently a factor that must be dealt with and held under check (Chen, 2001). The cost that would be brought about in tweaking the framework may not promptly receive rewards as the underlying time would be spent on breaking down the progressions made. If there should arise an occurrence of the IGT framework, there was a ton of examination done to guarantee that the customization was made carefully to improve the business tasks and not only for improving the innovation. An underlying movement to an ERP would consistently be troublesome as a redo would be vital in the all the activities associated with the business. Another factor that was considered during the customization was choosing which ERP bundle must be utilized. The dynamic procedure must be defended and a great deal of thought must be done before narrowing down on SAP as it had focal points in money related solidification and budgetary announcing. A prominent weakness was that solitary three of the significant modules were coordinated, in particular, fabricating, item improvement and money. The rest of the modules were to be broke down additional, before all the tasks were incorporated. The coordination of the IGTs own industrial facility control framework to the executed SAP ERP framework likewise required a great deal of investigation. The IGT the executives itself needed to concede at a later stage that since the best possible documentation were not accessible, joining all the data into the ERP was very monotonous. 3. During ERP execution, there are a ton of changes that the application experiences and subsequently there should be a powerful administration framework for reviewing the progressions and empower the assets conform to the progressions that the application experiences. Certain means taken by the IGT the executives could enable the assets to modify themselves to the progressions that occur. Understanding that the new ERP framework is going to influence the ordinary daily schedule and exercises of the association, would enable the administration to handle the issues because of the progressions all the more successfully. The example of exercises that have been completed is going to change and a great deal of learning would be required by the administration staff and the representatives to stay aware of the day by day exercises to look after efficiency. The errands, exercises and the procedures being completed are going to change definitely and the representatives will associate with a g reat deal of new information. There ought to be a clearness among the offices, just as the workers and the board with regards to why the ERP framework was being embraced. In the event that the workers can identify with the upgrades that the application is experiencing, can be persuading and help the assets grasp the adjustments in a superior manner. A viable correspondence channel ought to be kept up guaranteeing the progression of data between the assets occurs in a continuous way. Correspondence would be a key factor for the administration to deal with the issues that may come up during the movement to the ERP framework. There were sure changes that the IGT the board did to the business procedure to modify itself to the SAP usage. For instance was the adjustment in the request procedure of not conveying the business request until half a month till the fabricate. More significance was given for improving deals before hand itself. The administration likewise found a way to consolidate barely any representatives from the request gathering and the designing area, to redo the framework the same number of the procedure were not recorded in IGT. Preparing a couple of work force in the ERP framework and empowering them to go about as intermediates between the representatives and the administration can help in the smooth progress to the ERP framework. Further, archiving the outcomes and the positive effect that the ERP has purchased about in the business can empower the representatives modify well to the changes (Brehm et. al, 2001). Better preparing methodologies and showing the application changes offering accentuation to the advantages can be a possibility for the administration to make the assets adapt up to the progressions all the more successfully. A drawback to utilizing this procedure is the contention stays uncertain, in this manner making feelings raise. It might be proper to suit when you understand your position isn't right on an issue being talked about. Pleasing when suitable can enable a gathering to build up a strong atmosphere as it shows you are sensible. (Beebe Masters, 2009, p. CACM) Competition Is another refereeing style In which individuals endeavor to win a contention to the detriment of others. Individuals who utilize this style are regularly looking for force and command over others. It is useful to utilize this style just on the off chance that you are sure you have precise data and that your experiences and information can enable the gathering to accomplish its objective. Utilizing the serious style makes a weakness when it brings about a cautious atmosphere, makes fault towards others, and applies authority over others. (Beebe Masters, 2009, p. 161) Compromise Is another style of peace making Tanat makes an answer Tanat divider to some degree addresses ten issues AT all concerned. Utilizing this technique isn't generally a smart thought. At the point when bunches rapidly attempt to arrive at a trade off without talking about why they have strife, the gathering may not arrive at the best arrangement or choice. Bargain might be gainful when a choice is required rapidly. (Beebe Masters, 2009, p. 161-162) Collaboration is a technique for cause the board wherein bunch cooperate to deliver a success win result instead of vieing for power. Individuals who use coordinated effort see strife as an issue to be settled as opposed to contending to demonstrate who is correct and who isn't right. Utilizing this procedure creates progressively fulfilled gathering individuals just as better answers for strife. A disservice of this technique is the time, vitality, persistence, and ability it takes to work together. (Beebe Masters, 2009, p. 162) Different clash circumstances require every one of us to pick a style of peace making proper for the kind of contention. The way to viable clash anticipation and the board is to pick the peace making style proper for the contention (Green, n. D, Para. 1). Your peace making conduct style is basically a piece of what your identity is. You build up a favored style of peace making dependent on past encounters, foundations, observations, blessings and capacities. (Intercession Works North, Inc. , 2008-2011) While most people have a favored strategy for peace promotion that they use in struggle circumstances, it might be important to pick an alternate style when fitting. I for one utilize the communitarian way to deal with peace promotion regularly. I have never preferred to maintain a strategic distance from a contention, which on occasion can prompt more dispute. In many cases an off?C,- 1?0 period is expected to consider the current issue. I will in general need to discuss the contention immediately and resolve the issue. I don't function also on the off chance that I realize a contention exists. I care about what others are thinking and feeling notwithstanding my own contemplations and emotions. I need to set aside the effort to build up a genuine agreement on an answer for the contention that all people included are on the side of. I understand my favored strategy for coordinated effort isn't fitting for all contention circumstances. I frequently go to the trade off style of refereeing when struggle exists with my kids. I feel that utilizing the trade off style has numerous points of interest over different styles of refereeing to determine clashes I am having with my youngsters. The serious style of peace promotion just makes my youngsters increasingly cautious and insubordinate against my capacity. I need them to feel that we are a group, and we can work out clash together. My greatest disappointments in managing other people who utilize various styles of peace promotion are the individuals who ceaselessly utilize the shirking style. I sanction that numerous individuals don't prefer to manage struggle, so they would prefer to imagine it doesn't exist. By and by, I feel that as a rule, this makes the contention raise. Connections can be harmed by uncertain issues. I feel that abusing this style can lead us into surrendering such a large number of our very own objectives and empowers others to exploit us. It is essential to figure out how to go to bat for what one puts stock in as opposed to turning into an and attempting to in every case please others. The main time I like to utilize this style of peace promotion is when feelings are crazy and a chilling period is important to pull together ND consider the issue. The contention by and large doesn't Just leave, and should be managed sooner or later. I additionally make some troublesome memories managing the individuals who utilize ten rivalry style AT peace making. I battle to get along mind n tense won look for control over others and consistently need to be correct. Strife ought not be a game that will be won, yet a chance to talk about various perspectives and go to an accord. As far as I can tell, when the opposition peace promotion style is being utilized it makes a climate of preventiveness, which I find awkward.

Teaching High School Students How To Avoid Plagiarism
posted on November 2, 2015 My very first year of teaching high school, I asked my sophomore students to write a 1,000 word paper. Itââ¬â¢s been so long ago, I donââ¬â¢t remember the topic. What I do remember is that I caught three students plagiarizing. I also remember being perplexed by this discovery, because we had just that week taken notes on what copyright and plagiarism is, and had completed several exercises on identifying and avoiding taking other peopleââ¬â¢s words and ideas and claiming them as our own. Last year, I wrote a lengthy article detailing ââ¬Å"What is plagiarism, And Why Does It Matter?â⬠and used it to help my students define the word and learn how to avoid mistakes. This year, I am working again to head students off at the pass. Not only are we going to take a different route to learning about plagiarism, Iââ¬â¢m also looking to find instances of it in their first rough drafts, and showing them how to fix their mistakes before the final draft gets handed in. Today, is the day weââ¬â¢ll formallyà learn about plagiarism, beginning with the following videos, which were recommended by Larry Ferlazzo. While his site is specifically geared towards ESL students, Iââ¬â¢ve found his resources beneficial to all students. Instead of me lecturing in front of a boring Powerpoint and the students writing notes ââ¬â or not ââ¬â I recommend the following activities. First, I begin the day with a bellringer prompt: What is plagiarism? Students must write a paragraph in response to the prompt, and they can use the dictionary to help them understand the word if theyââ¬â¢ve never heard of it before. The first video, from Easy Bib, defines plagiarism and gives tips on how to quote directly or paraphrase information. (You can watch Plagiarism by Easy Bib on View Pure to avoid advertising.) Schizophrenia Types, Symptoms, Medications, Treatment Essay
Schizophrenia is a neurological disorder that affects the cognitive functions of an individual. The cause of this illness is unknown, but there are several theories of how an individual may acquire schizophrenia. Because there are many symptoms of the disease and because the symptoms can vary quite dramatically among several individuals and even within the same individual over time, the diagnosis of schizophrenia can be quite difficult. In the United States and Europe, schizophrenia occurs in about 3 to 6 of every 10,000 individuals. Schizophrenia occurs equally in males and females; however, the age of onset of the disease is different between the sexes. The primary age of onset in males occurs roughly between the ages of 15 and 25,â⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Since the social causation hypothesis is more narrow and only accounts for the assumption that schizophrenia results from stress (one hypothesis for the development of schizophrenia), the downward drift hypothesis seems to better explain the disproportionate numbers of schizophrenics in the lower socioeconomic classes. Moreover, a number of estimations have claimed that between one-third and two-thirds of homeless individuals have schizophrenia (1). However, the theory that social factors may produce the stressors that lead to schizophrenia does correlate with several key points. Epidemiological studies have shown that a higher proportion of schizophrenics are found in large cities, particularly in those cities with populations of over one million people, whereas smaller cities have virtually no incidence of schizophrenia. Also, the development of schizophrenia in children of a schizophrenic parent or parents appears to be twice as likely in those residing in large cities as compared to those in smaller communities. The Battle of Adolescence in The Catcher in the Rye by...
Adolescence is stressful and confusing to say the least, and is a time in oneââ¬â¢s life where one begins to discover who they are and what they want as they transition into the adult world. In J.D. Salingerââ¬â¢s classic American novel, The Catcher in the Rye, the main character Holden, is a downhearted teenage boy used by Salinger in order to portray universal themes to the reader including isolation, loss of innocence, and the phoniness of the adult world. Through Salingerââ¬â¢s use of symbolism, the reader is able to ponder Holden and his struggles as he embarks into adulthood in order to come to a deeper understanding of the themes Salingerââ¬â¢s symbols represent. One of the most widely recognized symbols of the book is Holdenââ¬â¢s curiosity about the ducks in Central Park. Holden longs for answers to his question of where the ducks go in the winter. ââ¬Å"The ducks. Do you know by any chance? I mean does somebody come around in a truck or something and take t hem away, or do they fly away by themselvesââ¬âgo south or something? (107). As the ice freezes over the pond and winter comes, the ducks leave, able to escape the brutal winter and the ice for a more pleasant, warmer climate to the south. Holden longs to avoid being apart of the adult world that is engulfed with phoniness, but is unable to understand how to do so. ââ¬Å"The fish donââ¬â¢t go no place. Use Of Existential Therapists View Themselves As Companions
Techniques Used Existential therapists view themselves as companions; not someone who is going teach and lead the individual to change because they view therapy as a journey client and therapist go through together. Each learning from one another and each having the same room and opportunity for growth. Van Deurzen explains ââ¬Å"these practitioners prefer description, understanding, and exploration of the clientââ¬â¢s subjective reality, as opposed to diagnosis, treatment, and prognosisâ⬠(as cited in Cory, 2013, p. 157). Meaning therapy is one example of an existential technique that incorporates evidence-based practices. Meaning therapy equips therapists with principles that help them empower clients to face their personal struggles, seek meaning in their life, and the tools to overcome those blocks preventing them from true happiness (Wong, 2010, p. 92). Even though therapists may borrow techniques from other models it is not a technique-oriented approach which is the co mplete opposite of CBT; ââ¬Å"this is an active, directive, time-limited, present-centered, psychoeducational, structured therapyâ⬠(Cory, 2013, p. 485). The Importance of Honor and Virtue Essay example - 914 Words
The Importance of Honor and Virtue Two important characteristics for warriors are honor and virtue. Virtue is deemed to be the most important to a warriors life and it means achieving your greatest potential as a human being. The reward for great honor and virtue is fame (kleos), which is what guarantees meaning and value to ones life. Dying without fame (akleos) is generally considered a disaster, and the warriors of The Iliad do the most unimaginable deeds to avoid dying in obscurity or infamy. A warrior without honor does not have meaning in his life. Honor is more important than life itself. Akhilleus is considered to be the best warrior by far any other such as Hector. Akhilleus has all the characteristics of a great warrior, and proves that he is in the Achaean army, but he has character flaws that conflict with his ability to act with nobility and integrity. Akhilleus is arrogant to the point of being flawed; he is self-righteous and thinks of himself first and his immediate family second, which is a direct reflection of him. He needs to make sure that his family is safe and that no harm comes to them. If any harm comes to his family and he did not protect them it will reflect poorly on his ability of being a great warrior. Akhilleus is selfish and cruel and very barbaric, he appears to have two different sides to himself. He is evil on the way he conducts his business as a warrior but he has another side of him that seems to yearn for him to be one of the most cherished and loved warriors at the same time. Akhilleus is one of the warriors that are a classic over-achiever. He was taught how to excel since birth and to excel at everything he did. Doing things halfway correct or right was not an option for him. He wanted to always be first and the best in everything and would not allow anyone around him to fail or not excel either because it may reflect badly on himself as a warrior.Show MoreRelatedEssay about In Search of Virtue in Honors1668 Words à |à 7 PagesIn Search of Virtue in Honors Of the three forms of friendship discussed by Aristotleââ¬âthe useful, the pleasant, and the goodââ¬âthe ideal seminar most resembles the perfectly good friendship between ââ¬Å"good men who are alike in excellence or virtueâ⬠(Aristotle 1156b). Journal Contemporary Hospitality Management -Myassignmenthelp.Com
Question: Discuss About The Journal Contemporary Hospitality Management? Answer: Introducation Wesfarmers Limited is the company that has been available for the analysis purpose and throughout the study the annual report of the Wesfarmers Limited will be discussed with regard to the impairment testing. The company is Australia based and is listed in the Australian Stock Exchange having second largest place in the retail chains business and is big competitor to the Woolworths Limited. For making the deep analysis and current analysis, the annual report for the financial year ending 30th of June 2017 has been considered. The financial statements have to be read with the notes to the accounts of the company and therefore, the following assets of the company have been tested for the purpose of the impairment if any during the year: Note number 5 has laid down the impairment test for the trade receivables. The trade receivables are those from whom any amount is receivable and that too in the ordinary course of business not any special transactions. Note number 7 has laid down the second major head comprises of the property plant and equipment. It includes freehold lands, buildings, leasehold land improvements, plant vehicles and equipment and Mineral lease and development. Note number 8 has laid down the third major head for impairment testing is the Goodwill and other intangibles. The other intangibles include brand, contractual and non contractual relationships, software and gaming and liquor licenses. Note number 17 has laid down the other major head namely Non financial assets and note number 18 on Associates and joint Ventures and accordingly impairment is tested for the loss in investment Yes, the company has conducted the testing for impairment and that too in accordance with Australian accounting standard and has provided the details explanation of each and every testing done by them. As per the seventeen note of the financial report of the company for the financial year ending 30th of June 2017, following test has been done for the impairment: The group of the whole company tests the property plant and equipment, goodwill and other intangibles on an annual basis. The testing becomes more frequently in case of the intangibles having indefinite lives and accordingly the testing on at least annually or frequent basis have been mentioned. The testing is also required when an indication is there that the impairment that has been charged in the earlier period might have been changed in the current financial year. The group will identify and prescribe the cash generating units. The need of identifying the cash generating units will arise only when the individual assets will not be able to generate the cash flows on its own on independent basis rather uses the other assets to generate the profits. Also when the assets value in use so calculated cannot be simulated with the figures as obtained with the fair value. Thereafter, the recoverable amount of each of the asset or the cash generating units as the case may be is identified. Recoverable amount of an asset or the cash generating unit is the higher of the fair value of asset less cost of the disposing off the same which is defined as FVLCOD and the value in use. Value in use is nothing but the present value of all the cash inflows that the company estimates for future for at least five years. The present value is calculated by using the discounted rate or the cost of capital of the company. In case the cash flows are required for more than five years then the same is estimated using the growth rate of the company. For the calculation of the FVLCOD, the discounted cash flow way has been used instead of other methods. Now the recoverable amount so calculated is contrasted with the carrying amount of the asset and in case the carrying amount exceeds the recoverable amount of the assets or the cash generating units as the case may be then the impairment is booked otherwise the asset in consideration is not impaired and is recorded at the carrying value only. The other item of the asset which is tested for the impairment is the trade receivables. These include the balances of the sundry debtors and other loans and advances made in the normal routine of business. The trade receivables are check with different kinds of risk like liquidity risk, credit risk and financial risk. The test for the impairment is ongoing. It does not require being waiting for the balance sheet date of the year end. The test includes the checking and verification of the creditworthiness of the debtors as to whether they are in a position to generate the income and disburse the outstanding and accordingly impairment is booked. In the given case recoverable amount is identified using the discounted cash flow technique and this will exclude the short term debtors as the discounting effect in this case will not be so significant or material. This, in this mode, the company does the impairment testing. The accounting treatment of the impairment is similar to the depreciation and accordingly on the one hand it is charged to the consolidated statement of profit and loss account and on the other hand the impairment is deducted from the value of the assets so impaired as on balance sheet date. On looking of the annual report of the company, the note number two of the annual report of the company, following amount have been charged as the impairment and clubbed under the head of the expenses in the consolidated statement of profit and loss: S. No. Particulars Amount ($Million) 1 Plant, equipment and other assets 27 2 Freehold Property 22 3 Goodwill NIL Every company lists out the key estimates and the assumptions for following each and every calculation of expenditure or revenue like depreciation and impairment, etc and these are mentioned in the annual report of the company. In the given case, the company has lists out the key estimates and the assumption that the company has used in estimating the key assumptions and the estimates for impairment: The note number seventeen is related to impairment of non financial assets and in that the company has mentioned that the major key assumption has been taken in the fair value less cost of disposal calculations. The company has identified the two cash generating units namely Coles and Target. For both of the cash generating units, the method of fair value less cost of disposal (FVLCOD) has been used for the estimation of the recoverable amount. The assumptions have been made regarding the discounting rate and the growth rate. For Coles and Target the discounting rate assumed is 8.9% and 11.0% respectively. Both discounting rates are post tax and have incorporated a risk for the net post tax flows which the company has estimated to achieve in the future years. For Coles and Target the discounting rate assumed is 3.0% and 2.5% respectively. The growth rate has taken into consideration the growth rate of long term in average terms. For the purpose of Curragh cash generating unit, recoverable amount has been determined and different assumptions have been used for the impairment. These includes the following: Life so remained shall be off approximately 17 years Estimates of the long term coal price Foreign currency rates based on 27th of June 2017 Escalations may be around 2.5% per annum and Discount rate which shall be post tax will be 9.9%. Thus, these are the assumptions and estimates that are listed in the annual report of the company. Yes, the impairment testing process of the assets of the company is very subjective. The first instance where the subjectivity is highlighted is the use of the method of fair value less cost of disposal instead of using the value in use method for calculation of the impairment loss of the assets. Three cash generating units namely Coles, Target and Curragh have undergone the impairment testing on the basis of this method only. It depicts that the company is not confident itself in the estimation of the future cash flows or the budgeted plans because of which the value in use method has not been employed by the company. The result of this subjectivity is that the company will lose his faith as zero impairment has been booked for the current year. However, if company would have been gone by the value in use method, then the situation will be different. I have found the whole process of impairment testing as interest also and sometimes confusing also. Interesting because new method of calculation of the recoverable amount has been disclosed is fair value less cost of disposal (FVLCOD). On the other hand the same process is confusing also because some calculations and the detailed facts were missing due to which some explanations are in dark room like. For instance how the discounting rate has been calculated and so on. The new insight is the adoption of the different method of calculating the impairment which is fair value less cost of disposal (FVLCOD). Second insight is the different assumption for different cash generating units can be taken by the company. For instance, for Coles and Target different assumption have been placed and for Curragh different assumption has been placed. In the significant accounting policies as adopted by the company as mentioned in the annual report, it is mentioned that for the purpose of all fair value measurements the group has categorized the assets into three levels. These are: Level One - where fair value will be determined in accordance with the listed price in the market Level Two where fair value will be determined in accordance with other than listed prices Level Three - where fair value will be determined in accordance with unlisted prices. The following reasons helps IASB board in believing that earlier account standard does not reflect the economic reality:- The accounting treatment of the operating leases contracts which depicts that the financial transactions does not involved actual obligation of the company and the company is not liable to record them in their accounts while estimating the liabilities or obligations (Ely, 2015). The nature of transaction was generally hided in the form operating lease contract in place of the rentals or purchase contracts which shows that real transactions has been hide by the management of the company. Net assets position of the company has been wrongly calculated as the contingent liabilities will not taken into consideration irrespective of their amount involved (Day and Stuart, 2013). From the above, the statement made by the speaker in the meeting seems validated as the financial data has been manipulated by the owners of the company by using the ambiguity in standard or regulations governing lease contract. The following are the reasons which depicts that off the balance sheet liabilities are 66 times higher than the obligations reported in the balance sheet:- As the earlier standard motivates of recording of the operating lease obligations as continent liabilities as they are considered to be future obligations if the lease rentals not paid on time, the liabilities will increase day by day as the lease period expires. Only the actual obligations were reported in the former standard as liability on the face of the balance sheet which are generally very less in case of lease agreement as only financial lease was considered in this which were very less. From the above two pints it can be analyzed that actual liabilities were less and having only 1/3rd of the total obligations which are inclusive of contingent liabilities. So, at some point of time the off the balance sheet (contingent liability) will become 66 times larger than obligations reported on the face of the balance sheet for the entities for which lease standard was applicable. The following are the points on the basis of which the chairperson thinks that under former accounting standard the playing fields for some airlines companies were not made available:- The major players in the airline industry have been into the operating lease contracts and have captured the market by ignoring the finance lease on the other hand. Due to operating lease they are liable to mention the liabilities relating to the leases as contingent liability and that too in notes to accounts of the company rather than mentioning on the first page of the balance sheet or in the schedules forming part of the balance sheet. By doing so they have curbed their actual liabilities (Gross, 2014). When new company enters into the market then he has no by other means forced to adopt for the operating lease and hence the players of the field will be the major players of this industry and the others will remain as it is (Singer, 2017). Second reason is that the new entrants will take time to bring their financial statements to that level so that they can also give the competition to others and if this former standard prevails then there will be no level playing field among the companies in the similar industry. The reasons that as to why the Chairperson of the International Accounting Standard Board have mentioned that the new accounting standard on the leases will not be popular with everyone are as follows: At first it is very much clear that the new accounting standard on leases is majorly applicable on the listed companies. The new accounting standard will make the parties to the contract to make the full disclosure of their financial assets and financial liabilities (Knubley, 2010; Moore and Nagy, 2013). The lessee cannot escape by mentioning the contingent liability only and that too in the notes to accounts rather it will be recorded with full liability under the provisions of the new accounting standard (Lim, 2014). It will make the existing listed companies which covers half of the listed companies dealing into leasing transactions out of the business and thus will make the standard unpopular not among their business industry but also in some other business industry. With this, the accounting standard will not be so popular. As the new accounting standard on lease will bring about the more transparency about the financial position of the company as well as the financial performance of the company, the faith of the stakeholders including the banks, financial institutions, government authorities, employees and others will get increased. Through this faith and the more reliance on the financial statements of the company will lead the management of the company to make a more informative and corrective decision in an efficient and effective manner. Earlier, the company has been making the lease versus buy decision very fast and vague but now the decision will effective and efficient one as in the case of lease the assets and the corresponding liabilities are required to be checked. Similarly the investors of the company including the potential investors will have more faith and trust in the workings of the company on the basis of which the investors will be able to take an effective decision regarding whether to invest in the particular company or not. Mnemonic Devices Essays - Memory, Mnemonics, Mental Training
Mnemonic Devices Absorb & Relate #5 & 6 Absorb: When talking about memory in this chapter, metacognition and metamemory are introduced. Metacognition is our awareness of and knowledge about our own cognitive system. In other words, this is referred to as ?knowing about knowing.? Metamemroy is the knowldege about one's own memory system; also known as ?knowing how to know.? One's metamemroy process includes the awareness that you must get ?things? into the memory by performing some intentional acitivity. This intentional mental acitivity is known as rehearsal. Mnemonic means ?to help the memory.? As the textbook states, a mnemonic device is an active, strategic kind of learning device or method, otherwise known as a rehearsal strategy. Each mnemonic device is either formal, meaning you learn the mnemonic ?scheme? and then apply it, or informal, which is when you invent the scheme yourself. Informal devices are characterized by three principles: 1) the material being learned is structured and integrated into a preexisting memory framework. 2) The material to be remembered must be practiced. 3) The mnemonic device provides a plan or scheme for retrieving information. Mnemonic devices provide an easier way to remember information. People use them to remember specific items in a shorter, quicker way than memorizing the entire concept. There are two types of mnemonic devies in which the book discuesses. The first one is the method of loci. Two active ingredients are invloed in this method; the first being the memorized physical locations and the second being the mental images of the to-be-remembered items. An example of this would be the grocery list that we did in class. It worked very well because each grocery item that we associated with locations was easty to remember. The other is the peg-word mnemonic device. This is where a prememorized set of words serves as a sequence of metnal ?pegs? onto which the to-be-remmeberd matersial can be ?hung.? For example, rhymes help to remember the items necessary. All mnemonic devices are helpful, whthery they are invented by yourself or not. Each of them rely on the three principles previously mentioned. If you take the method of loci device, for example, each principle applies to it. It clearly provides a structure for learning because you are consciously attempting to memorize items within a certain structure. The material is practiced because you are visually picturing items with the locations and repeating that to yourself so you can remember it. And lastly, this device privdes a scheme so that one can retrieve the information being stored in the memory. Because of the method used, one can later retrive this inforamtion fairly easy. Overall, mnemonic devices provide a way to help peole remember speicific things. Each of the pricniples are very important because without them, it would not be a mnemonic device. Without these devices, remembering information would be very difficult as there is a lot to store in our memories. Psychology

Essay Topics For Writing About The Crusades
Essay Topics For Writing About The CrusadesIt is a fact that the first Crusades took place a few hundred years before the Christian era. Many students who study the history of Europe will find it difficult to come up with an essay topic on these events. There are many reasons for this and one of them is the huge amount of information that is already out there in the public domain about the Crusades. One of the most popular websites on the Internet is the World Wide Web and its biggest source of information about the Crusades is the Internet Encyclopedia. This website contains a large number of documents related to the Crusades and the documents that have been published by various authors. There are also a lot of books that have been written in the last decade that are dedicated to the Crusades. All these facts and sources give students the problem of deciding what to write about and what not to.The first thing that they should do is to read the documents from the different eras that w ere founded by the Byzantines, Seljuk Turks and the Muslim Arabs in order to determine what the Muslims meant when they said that the crusaders were attacking an 'ancient civilization'. The first document that most people think of is the tenet of the Saracens and the Christians which stated that they attacked an 'ancient civilization'. Scholars say that this tenet was originally made in the twelfth century and they argue that it is false. Most of the Crusader witnesses have commented that their goal was not to attack any 'ancient civilization' but rather to punish the towns that failed to pay the taxes that the crusaders demanded. This was the main reason why the crusaders didn't allow their subjects to live in certain towns.Another common fact that students should keep in mind is that the crusades did not start in a single year. When the crusaders set off to fight the Muslims, they travelled from one town to another in search of treasures and goods that the crusaders claimed belong ed to the Muslims. Therefore, the crusaders did not attack any 'ancient civilization'. It is very difficult to justify the fact that the crusaders chose to attack an 'ancient civilization' based on the documents that have been published in the West. The crusades and the Turkish Christians have been considered to be the two sides of the same coin. Some historians argue that the crusaders in the first few years of their venture were in the wrong because they were doing the same things that the Turks were doing. According to some historians, it was only later on that the crusaders started to realise that they were not good at plundering and looting, as they thought. They returned to their original professions of monks and friars, which make them the wrong people to blame for the early mismanagement of the trade.Another problem that students have when writing about the crusades is the absence of pictures. When they choose to write about the Crusades and the Muslims, they will be left wit h black and white photos and nothing else. This doesn't help them much because they cannot explain the battle that took place and they cannot even explain what the soldiers wore. It is important for them to note that there were actually rich and beautiful people who died during the crusades, as people with such wealth were often killed by the crusaders.A great way of learning about the crusades is through the sources that have been published recently. These include the books by the British historian David Rohl, Thomas E. Watt, John Marc Anthony and Michael Wood. The articles written by them provide rich information about the history of the crusades and the significance of the crusades for Western civilisation.A lot of students like to write about the four subjects when they prepare essays, which is what I have mentioned above. The fourth subject that I would recommend is the modern history of the Crusades, which gives them an excellent way of dealing with the topic. The other three subjects mentioned here are usually already covered in the other subjects and they are meant to bring the other topics to the forefront so that students are not left wondering about the right answer to the question 'what was the crusades all about'.

How to Title Papers in College
How to Title Papers in CollegeLooking at a pile of paper just is not the easiest thing in the world. It can be difficult to organize the paper work and to understand it all in your head. This makes finding a way to help you with your papers a much easier task. Many colleges and universities give out papers for students who are interested in getting their papers done. The first step in getting papers for your classes is to take the courses that interest you. Find a course that interests you the most, go ahead and find out which ones you can complete first, and then see what papers you can get completed.Of course, there will be some courses that have time limitations so it may not be possible to get a paper completed in time. In this case, you can look to find a paper that you can complete even if you only have time to do the minimum of an outline or first paragraph. The least amount of work in the shortest amount of time is always best for the student who is trying to fit in as many cl asses as they can.Finding a resource for these papers is going to be more than just filling out the forms. You are going to need to find a way to keep track of your paper so that you don't forget to add the syllabus and then your class schedule. If you leave anything out of your papers, it is going to be very frustrating for the student that you are supposed to be teaching. The best place to start on how to title papers in college is your home. A home study course can teach you many things that you will use each semester at school. It is not only going to be used for the actual course you are taking, but also for a lot of the writing assignments. You can save time by doing this in the evening or the weekend. It is going to save you a lot of time in the long run. By using home study course material as your papers, you are not going to get all of the information from the course when you get it through the year book.By using your own information, you can get things done that will be diff erent than if you had used the course notes from the class. These lessons are not the best resource to look to find out all the info that you need about your paper, but they will give you something that you can use to stay on top of things. If you get enough of this from the class, you can find yourself to be really productive in the end of the semester.
